The number of conservative scapegoats for gun violence in the US must now be in the thousands. Fox News's Tucker Carlson is the latest to add to the inventory with a bizarre rant in which he blamed the problem on a chaotic range of random things. Here's what all these self-appointed public health experts don't acknowledge, though:

Other countries have mental health issues.

Other countries have social media.

Other countries have porn.

Other countries have video games.

Other countries have drugs.

Other countries have low rates of religious observance.

And, astonishing as it may seem, other countries have women in positions of power too.

Carlson and his fellow conservatives can't explain why other countries aren't plagued by mass shootings despite having all these things.

Actually, they could explain it.

Very easily.

They just don't want to.
